Guidelines for Network Installation
in Central Areas of the University
As the network system is currently an essential tool supporting the university's mission and is widely used in almost every area of the university, the network management guidelines are divided into two categories:
๐ Areas under the responsibility of departments such as faculties, departments, or units under the faculties, which can manage their own network systems.
๐ Central areas such as offices at the division level, units under the Office of the President, and faculty and department-level units that have agreed to let the central administration handle the network management.
There are two primary departments involved in the network installation in the central areas: the Office of Building and Ground Management and the Computer Center. To ensure effective operations and avoid redundancy, the following guidelines are established:
1. The Office of Building and Ground Management is responsible for installing, maintaining, and extending various signal cables such as UTP, Coaxial, and telephone lines within the service areas, which include educational service areas, central meeting rooms, other central areas of the university, and faculty or department-level units that have agreements to let the central administration take charge.
2. The Computer Center is responsible for installing and maintaining fiber optic cables and network devices such as switches, access points, and ATAs in the service areas as specified.
3. The technical specifications(Specifications) for all types of cables mentioned in points 1 and 2, including all network devices, are to be defined by the Computer Center.
